My weight loss plan.. and how I do it

well.. the best thing to get things started off in the morning.. is drink a big glass of water..my brother told me this.. and he's lost 40 or 50lbs already..do this first thing in the morning before you have breakfast.. Get up.. go pee.. then have the glass of water..He told me it jump starts your metabolism..Also.. watch the carbs.. and starchy foods ( a Dr told me back in March.. before I started eating better.. that eating to much starchy foods can keep you from losing weight) Things like bread, noodles, corn,peas..that's all i can think of all the top of my head..
another thing is watch the amount of red meat you eat..i have been eating a lot of chicken..and fish.. but nothing fried or breaded in any kind of way..I also like to cook with lemon and garlic.. maybe not at the same time.. but lemon helps cut fat, too.. i will list things you can use it will be better when you cook or make meals..

1. use garlic instead of salt..if you use salt.. the best kind is sea salt.. try to stay away from iodized salt.. its not that good for you..plus garlic is very good for you..and its naturally salty..

2. have brown rice instead of noodles.. if you want noodles don't eat as much..

3. watch how much sodium food has in it.. if its pre packaged..if the sodium is 400's or higher.. try to find the same thing buy less sodium.. like for example.. in a pack of frozen chicken the Tyson's is the best.. it might cost a little more.. but its better for you..b/c the pieces of chicken are not filled with salt.. and things with salt in them shrink up when you cook them.. so you get less meat.. Also.. if you buy hamburger meat.. buy the 93/7.. and not the 80/20..in the 93/7 you are getting more meat and only 7% fat..

4. if you make chicken salad or tuna salad.. or whatever (if you like to make it at all) use fat free plain yogurt instead of mayo.. it is better for you.. but not as fat.. in fact.. don't sure mayo in anything if you can help it..

5.watch the serving size.. all packages will have the serving size on the label..
here are some good meal ideas..

for breakfast..best thing to have is fresh fruit , oatmeal, boiled egg w/o the yoke.. egg is a get source of protein.. and its better for you then peanut butter. (peanut butter has a lot of fat and cals. in it.) non-fat yogurt is good too..So oatmeal with fresh fruit is very good.. you can even buy the pre packages instant oatmeal and one pack is a serving.. have that with an english muffin.. even if you put a little bit of jelly on it..

for a snack..string cheese.. or even the little mickey mouse shape cheese.. i buy them for Gracie.. 4 or 5 of them is a good snack.. and its fun for the kids too.. also a long with that you have berries..strawberries and grapes are a good combo with cheese.. also meat roll up.. like ham.. but get the ham that is 97% fat free.. you can get it from the deli.. its smithfields i think rolled up ham and the cheese shapes or even rolling the string cheese in the ham is good too.. or have yogurt

for lunch the best thing is to have like a salad with some kind of meat on it.. if you want to make chicken and slice it up on top.. any kind of dressing that is vinegar based is the best.. vinegar cuts fat.. or you can make a sandwich.. and have some carrot sticks with it..

for dinner make something with chicken..or fish.. or 1lb hamburger meat..have some kinda vegi..rice..

some good ideas for a sweet treat..

have sherbet instead of ice cream..and even the frozen ice pops are great.. plus fun for the kids..
another thing that is very yummy.. buy a box of the angle food cake at the store.. and go home.. make the mix.. before you put it in the oven cut up some strawberries and drop them around the batter and you can even have either lite or non fat ready whip..or whip cream.. cut a piece of the angle food cake and put about 2 tbsp of the ready whip on top..

Things to try to stay away from.. or attest limit the amount you eat:

-to much bread
-butter
-mayo
- to much cheese
-corn
-pasta
-crackers
-peanut butter
-buttery popcorn (lite popcorn is ok)
-peanuts
-fried foods
-too much sodium
-too many carbs
-too much sugar
-too much fat
-too many cals.
-enriched flour
-bacon/sausage
-potatoes
-cookies
-too much red meat
-candy

Things you do want to eat:

-fresh fruit and vegi's (try not to buy the stuff in a can.. fresh is best)
-brown rice
-eggs
-whole wheat bread
-non-fat yogurt
-2% or even non-fat milk
-oatmeal
-things high in fiber and protein and low in fat
-low cals
-low carbs
-whole grain english muffins
-garlic
-extra virgin olive oil (just a little when cooking or seasoning)
-lemon
-lime
-chicken
-fish

some of my favorite dishes:

(my #1 fav..esp. for summer)

Lemon & Lime chicken

I take a baggie.. and take about 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts.. i pour a little EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) over each piece of chicken.. a spoonful of chopped/minced garlic.. sprinkle some of the grill mate chicken rub over each piece of chicken.. and one fresh whole lemon.. and one whole lime..After that I close the bag and shake it good to get all the chicken covered.. and I let it marinate in the fridge for 4-5 hours.. over night would be great too.. Then I grill it up and our the marinate over the chicken before turn it over on the grill.. do not cut the chicken on the grill it will lose all the juicy flavor. I also make rice and either green beans or some kind of vegi's to go with it..

Sweet and Sour chicken

I take 1-2 pieces of chicken tenders (in the store you can but the breasts or tenders) per person and cut the chicken in to bite size pieces..
first.. take a medium size yellow or sweet onion.. and chop it up in to about half inch pieces.. put a little bit of EVOO in the pan.. (make sure the pan is deep enough to add the chicken in later on.. if the pan is not deep enough just use a medium size pot) add the onions in first.. let them start to tender.. and you will know b/c they will be getting soft and a little transparent.. once this happens.. add a spoon of garlic.. then turn the heat down just a little(you will start off with the heat on medium to high..once you add the garlic turn the heat down to medium) then if you like.. i like to put in a chopped green pepper.. chopped in to 1 inch squares.. and make sure to get all the core out.. like the white middle and the seeds.. add that to the onions.. you could add the pepper in with the onion when you start.. that's fine..once the onion and and the peppers are cooked.. then take some pineapple and slice it in to bite size pieces and add it is.. then add the chicken.. once the chick is white on both sides and there in no more pink showing.. then add the sweet and sour sauce( you can find it in the store with where they have all the oriental seasoning and food.. it comes in a clear glass bottle.. and a pink and white label.).. cover it with a lid for the pot or pan.. and turn the heat down to low.. and let simmer for 8-10 minutes.. I also make brown rice to eat with it..

Every once in a while.. I will have a big good fat meal like pizza of a hamburger and fries.. BUT I will drink a lot of water after it.. sometimes if you do that your body will have to work hard to burn it off.. but then you will drop a few pounds like that.. now I will only do that once or twice a month at most.. If I eat something with a lot of fat in it i will go really light the next day.
If you want more tips or have any questions .. fill free to email me. @: jwseedorf@yahoo.com

Also one last tip I was able to think of is.. try not to have anything to eat 4 hours before you go to bed.. this way your body has time to burn it off before you go to bed.. :)

Well, thanks for reading!
